This workshop will teach you how to download the software from the manufacturers and upload it to the vehicle. These classes are taught by experts who do this for a living so you are sure to learn all the ins and outs. Vendors will be on hand to answer all your questions and equipment will be for sale. One of the most difficult diagnostics in the automotive industry is CAN communication error codes. STI would like to help improve your chances of a successful diagnostic and repair related to CAN communications fault codes and communication errors. This is a hands-on workshop that will provide the technicians with the knowledge to successfully navigate difficult CAN communication systems and troubleshoot complex faults. MODE 6 & ADVANCED SCAN TOOL DIAGNOSTICS
STOP STRUGGLING WITH MONITORS THAT won't RUN TO COMPLETION
Learn how to use Global OBD II mode 6 data to repair your vehicle right the first time by checking your repairs for accuracy, identifying emission systems that are close to failing, understand why monitors may not be running, gain insight into how the computer is testing emission control components so that you can test them the same way. Besides mode 6 the technician will learn how to use the scan tool as a powerful diagnostic tool and just as a code reader. There will be advanced hands-on use in class performing actuation test on direct injection and variable cam timing systems. There will be a focus on scan tool data interpretation. OBD EVAP SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICs
EVAP SYSTEM is THE NUMBER ONE EMISSION FAILURE
Learn about the different EVAP systems and how to diagnose them. Perform hands-on EVAP testing using smoke machines and low-pressure EVAP testers, utilize the mode 6 data to check for failed monitors even when there are no codes. Use scan tools to perform the computerized EVAP test and analyze and interpret the results. This will be a 2-day workshop 16 hours in length. Lunch will be provided.
